June's Custard Comedy Line-ups Announced
June’s Comedy night on clashes nicely with England playing Algeria (Friday 18th June), so we have worked out a deal involving both football and or comedy so that footie mad people and World Cup widows can have a great time together or apart! Headlining in June is spoof hospital radio DJ - Ivan Brackenbury! Tom Binns debuted his comedy character Ivan Brackenbury at the Edinburgh Festival 2007 to astonishing critical acclaim. He won Spirit of the Fringe, was nominated for the prestigious Perrier and made Chortle’s Top 50 Gigs of the Decade along with Eddie Izzard, Chris Rock & Bill Cosby.
In the UK every hospital has a community radio station. Ivan Brackenbury is an insensitive, brash, sad case, egomaniac DJ broadcasting back to one such station from the gig.
What the press say:
"For simple laugh-'til you ache humour, Ivan Brackenbury is THE hit of the festival" Evening Standard
”The funniest show at the festival” The Times
"Laughs per minute, The funniest show at the festival" Time Out
"The most enjoyable hour at the festival" The Guardian"
Hils Barker – who The Edinburgh Guide described as: 'Hilarious star of the night'.
'Wonderful and funny', Time Out 'Sharp, fine-tuned material. * * * *' Sunday Herald
These great comics are joined by 'If Newcomer' nominee Mike Wozniak and of course
Comberton's favourite cardy wearing compere Henry Paker.
Tickets are £8 (£6 concessions) if you buy them in advance or £10 (£8 concessions) on the door.
Please note: Comedy is for over 18’s only
